Day +121

Hi all, well last night was as we had expected kinda tough and today was a total right off as I have just spent the day asleep and going to the toilet. It is always the same when I come back from a biopsy. I suppose it is the antistatic taking its effect. I also had loads of drugs to take today which the nurses just worked away while I slept and slept. I was supposed to have a shower, but I just couldn’t bring myself to take one and you know how much I love my showers. The only thing I did was to play with Amanda but that was only for a half an hour. So short note tonight. I hope tomorrow is a little bit more active and I’m feeling a little better. Nite Nite, Love Naoise.

  1. Hi Naoise, so sorry to hear that you had a tough night! Tx so much for posting your video, it's lovely to hear your voice and to see what you get up to. You were so calm before it, so brave!

It was a lovely day here today, Sadhbh was in Seadna's for most of the day, myself, Oisin and Caitlin spent the day in the garden. Caitlin picked up what I thought was a stone and put it in her mouth but on closer inspection it turned out to be a snail, yuck!!!!!!!!!

I hope your tomorrow is better too!

    Night, night. Paula xx

  2. Hi Naoise

Thanks for posting your video - it was really cool, like a virtual tour of the new hospital in Newcastle. I bet they don't even have that yet on their website! It does have a very space age look about it.

And your video really showed us what's involved when you go for your biopsy which was really interesting. I would never have imagined you needed to bring so much with you. I agree with Paula, you were so brave and calm before it.

Your letter from Brian Cowen was SO impressive. Jack & Caoimhe can't wait to tell that in their news in school on Monday. That was very nice of him to take the time to send it to you.

We're just back from a lovely visit to Nana & Gaga that was just too short because we had to rush back for Jack's soccer match. We left sunshine in Clontarf & are back for rain in Wicklow! Jack, Caoimhe & Cormac tried to teach Gaga their new card game of Rummy....poor Gaga, he had barely walked in the door and they were dealing him cards!

That's great news that the smoothie decided to stay down. I am sure I am not the only one of your blog followers who can't wait for you to be back to your old self and enjoying some weird & wonderful concoctions. Fingers & toes crossed that all will come good for you & your tum really soon.

Well done again on your video from yesterday - I am sure it was fun to make but nonetheless we all know what a BIG effort it must have been, so well well done.

I know Sunday's are quiet in the hospital, but I hope you're having an easy day.
    Lots of love
    Aisling

  3. Hi Naoise,
That was a cool idea to put up a video so that everyone can get a little idea of what happens before you go for your biopsy. I must say that you are the essence of COOL, CALM AND COLLECTED...Hope you are recovering nicely with some funny dvds and delicious smoothies(if you are allowed them?!) This morning I had a kiwi and mango smoothie and to be honest it really wasn't great, way too acidic!! I think it will have to be peach the next time!!
A letter from Brian Cowen, wow, that is immpressive!! You can bring it in and show it your class when you get back! I know he is not as good-looking as the boys from Westlife but still, you are probably one of the few people who he personally writes to!!
Have a nice day little pink princess who is as cool as a cucumber: this is gonna be your new nickname i think!lol xxxxxx

  4. Hi Naoise,

Thanks for the fab videos of your birthday/biopsy. Ur nurses look mad and fab ! They look soo kind and full of fun just what the doctor ordered. Well done all you Newcastle nurses/doctors we are all so grateful you are doing such a wonderful job minding our Naoise.

It was great to hear your voice and to get a virtual tour of the new hospital all at once. I would love to know what was in that case that your dad had - as somebody said "this is Naoise's life" - wow all those meds !

We are all so amazed that Brian Cowen wrote to you. Is there anyone famous left that you haven't met. David is going into school to tell his teacher the latest update - he is v impressed ! His teacher and class know all about you and sometimes they say a little prayer for you. She is a lovely teacher and enquires after you.

We are just back from Strandhill Sligo. All the Molony's went down including Eva. The children took surfing lessons today and had a ball. Eva was standing up on her board delighted with herself riding the wave until David jumped off his board and onto hers knocking them both into the air - boys will be boys ! They had great craic and fell into bed when they got home.

No other news here really. The videos made us realise just how much we are missing you. Can you imagine please god the huge party you will receive in Dublin when your home and well enough - keep that one in mind !

Nite nite Naoise - hope you get lots of shut eye tonight.

    Lots of love and hugs,

Nuala, Matt,David, Sean and Cillian xxxxx

  5. Hi Naoise

I'm sorry that I haven't written to you in such a long time. We have been very busy in Belgrove with the concert. The fifth class play was all about Dublin. Sarah Grainger played Molly Malone, and Amy McEneff wore a crazy blonde afro wig. I wonder if Fodhla cried with laughter when she saw them :)

Fourth Class put on a play all about African music. We left a trail of crepe paper everywhere we went, from our improvised grass skirts!

I'm so glad that you managed to drink a peach smoothie, and it was a real treat to get to see your video. That hospital really is HUGE. I think that I'd get lost in a place as big as that. Everyone that works there seems to be very friendly, kind and good humoured!

    Take care, a chroi

    Love and hugs

  6. Hi Naoise,
First day back at work after my holidays in Turkey - hard to settle back but had a great hoiday with some lovely sunshine. Your party looks like a great day and your nurses are great fun - LOVE the accent but you don't seem to be picking it up yet!!! Your video of the visit to the ' new hospital ' was so real Naoise I felt I was really there with you. It looks really modern and new. The new chair looks cool and is a good colour alongside Pink which is very important. I am sure all the shops in Newcastle are wondering why these Irish women keeps buying pink clothes and accessories - must think there are no Pink things in Ireland. Great to get a letter from Brian Cowen - bet the nurses were impressed with that !!

Hope you feel better soon and thinking of you always
    Anne.

  8. Hi Naoise,
Sorry to hear you are feeling so wiped out today. Hopefully tomorrow, two days after the biopsy, you will be feeling stronger and enjoying a long relaxing shower again. I don't have a lot of news really. Luke and I are going to Cork on Friday until Sunday to visit Luke's Nana and Granda. He loves going to Cork, expecially when we fly down. Greg and Ross are counting the days to their summer holidays now. Hopefully we will all get a little sunshine! It's pouring rain right now as I type. Anyway, I'll sign off for now. Hope you feel alot better tomorrow Pet.
    Bye for now.
    Lots and lots of love,

  9. Hello my lovely,

Just sending best wishes from the Dayward and letting you know we're all thinking of you and missing your smiley face and fabulous artwork!

Your nana popped in to say hello today and we were all very excited to see her. Thanks for passing on the great and glorious coloured necklace.

Speaking of pinkness.... I was in a little play last week where I was Glinda the good witch from The Wizard of Oz. I looked like princess Barbie gone wrong. Must send you a photo of it to make you giggle. Far too much pink chiffon for a girl my age!

    Sending pink hugs,

    Gail

  10. Hi Naoise

I hope that you had a good day today. I brought my class to Gormanstown today on their school tour, and thought of you. Do you remember going there last year on our tour with your Mum? I remember that you had a really great time in the swimming pool. Your Mum and I had a lovely lunch up the road in the Huntsman Inn. One of the girls was ill on the bus on the way home. But she must get car sick quite often, because she had a bag all ready on her lap just in case! I was impressed :)

With love and hugs (all pink, of course)

  11. Hello Sweetie.

    See!
Now that I've found you I'm stalking you....he he!!!

Gail was up today getting her hair done. We had a good laugh. She is all Blondified and fabulous again. She fell in love with Uisce (my mad little grey handbag loving cat).

As you can see, it's stupid o'clock in the morning here so I suppose I should go to bed.
    Nighty night Darlin'!

Will drop by again real soon.

    Mwah!
