My Treatment – Day 9

Hello, today was a tough day. I’m still on my chemo and this is really upsetting my tummy... also my feeding tube came out... twice over the weekend... and I had to have another one put in today.. not a great thing to do.. I’m not sleeping as much during the day as I was but I still like to have a little nap after my shower – thinking of my friends in school !! My teacher came in today... I had some sums to do from last week... but this time we worked on my teacher’s computer.. it was good fun... Tomorrow is my last day on chemo, then it is a rest day before my transplant. I’ll be glad to be over the chemo. That’s all for tonight.. time to go to sleep.. at least until the nurses come in during the night and wake me up..

Well done doing your blog when you have had problems with your tube. I bet you could have done without that! You are being so brave! At least the chemo is nearly over so hopefully you will start to feel a bit better soon. Keep up the good work Naoise! Oh by the way, I agree with Paul's comment that you should really have a picture of your Mum in her pink apron on your blog! Talk soon Love Eileen xxx

  5. Hi Naoise, it's great that you are back online, we missed your daily updates so much. You are being so brave with your chemo & I really hope today is a better day. While you were having technical problems we did the old fashioned thing & posted you a letter to Newcastle hospital. I hope you get it ok. Maybe your Mum or Dad can read it to you if you are not allowed. Sounds like you are a bit of a scrabble whizzkid - I love scrabble so I'll give you a game when you get back! Keep practicing with your Mum & Dad (maybe they'll get better!) Lots of love. Aisling

  13. Naoise, Great to see you are back on line. I can see from your many fans that you are really missed. I did a Google tonight ‘Naoise in Newcastle’ – your site came out 1st in the list – you are famous!!! As for home news, you are not missing much - the snow has finally gone so life is getting back to normal ......... Jack came home from school with his t-shirt covered in blood today, I thought that he had gotten into a fight. Luckily, it was only his new way of catching the football - with his nose! Caoimhe is excited and expecting loads of Valentine cards. I used to get alot myself but this year I have asked the postman not to deliver them as it is makes Aisling very jealous. I taught Cormac how to shave with his plastic razor tonight. Afterwards, we had a smooth skin competition, Caoimhe was the judge and Cormac won. Hope the tummy is better when the chemo is over - you can look forward to eating your favourite treats. Do you like prunes? Donncha, ate a whole carton of them today. So far he has pooed 15 times - his nappies smell fruity.....probably more news than you want to hear........keep the updates flowing, your upbeat attitude to life is inspiring! love, Michael

  16. Hi Naoise,
Thank God the chemo is nearly over, well done you, and I hear from all accounts that you are as plesant as ever, if that was me going through it I'm not sure I'd be quite so good at putting my best foot forward. You're one fighter! I hear Aine got her place in Belgrove for Sep, you'll be able to bring her in in the morning for 1 year anyway, before you move on to senior school.
And even though you're not feeling well you still beat your Mam and Dad at scrabble, it must be tough being so intelligent. Little Connell is doing great, he's into 3 to 6 months clothes already, following his brothers footsteps! Hope today is going ok, are you still off your food or are you back to soup and other strange food for breakfast. I'll post again tomorrow. Eva is dying to send you another message, she posted on sunday and it took her about an hour and a half to type the few lines she entered. Take Care, all our love, George

  17. Hi Naoise,
Just doing my daily check in on the blog. Glad to see you are having a little rest after the chemo. Everyone here is asking for you, so reading your updates make me sound very intelligent! I see your little teddy in a few of the pics too, make sure he doesn't take up too much room on the pillow!
Hope you begin to feel a little better soon, keep eating and keep blogging!
    Thinking of you, Ken. X

  18. Hi Naoise,

You are a real trooper, you are doing so well. All of the girls here in the creche are reading your blog and keeping an eye on your journey. Aine is behaving herself very well (ha ha!!!). We are going on our staff Christmas party on Friday night, for a chinese meal and a few drinks after. I know its very late for a Christmas party, do you think I would get away with saying its next years party!!!? Big soccer match on tonight, Ireland V Georgia, apparently we have to win, not only to qualify but also to lift everyones spirits, so no pressure lads!! You take care of yourself and continue that good fight. Will check in again soon. Lots of love, Nicky. XOXOXO
