Hi Everyone, well last night was the same as every other night no sleep at all. I had a bit of a nap this morning and then had some oxtail soup for breakie. Physio came but I was too sick and tired for some reason I always feel the same in the morning but I seem to perk up in the afternoon. Amanda came at 2.30 and stayed for two making an Easter basket which we are going to fill with mini eggs. It was great, that really cheered me up and I stayed in my cheery mood all afternoon. I had lemon sole for lunch from marks and sparks which was nice and then mummy made me a chicken wrap for tea. Enough about food which I'm kinda obessed with at the moment. The docs had their big meeting and they have decided that tomorrow I will have two biopsies. One on my gut and the other on my skin, this will tell if the stem cell is working and if I have more of a virus than GVHD. We have to go to the Royal Victoria Hospital in an ambulance in the morning around 11.30. I'm on the emergency list again so I could be waiting and fasting all day long sooo not looking forward to that! Last time I went there we got back at 3.00am. Then next week I will be going to Holland again. So thats the latest news from Head Office in Newcastle. Also the TV blew up this evening which is awful having no TV, Amanda has gone off in search of an aerial, she thinks we might need a new box. I am kinda of eating a lot this evening cos I can't have anything after 8 tomorrow morning, I've just ate a mini chocolate bunny and now fancy something else. I have to wake up really early if I want to have breakfast... there I go again talking about food... anyways gonna log off now and will send an update tomorrow. Love Naoise xxx

I love hearing about your menu and exactly what you've eaten. Ox tail soup for breakie sounds perfect! We used to have ox tail soup every Sunday at home in Na Na's for lunch, with Brennans white pan bread cut in triangles. The triangles was just cause it was Sunday, every other day it was squares. Do the steriods make you very hungry?
Well everyone's at home this week cause they have their school holidays so the house is very busy.
No TV; that's just awful. When will they replace it?
As always we'll be thinking about you tomorrow and hoping that your trip to Royal Victoria Hospital is short and you are back in your room very soon, eating again and watching a new TV.

ReplyDeleteI hope your TV gets fixed soon. I painted my toenails today - it was a nice shiny blue colour. We bought you a nice shiny purple colour to celebrate that you can touch your toes. We'll give it to Derek for you.
Aine might come for a sleepover soon.
I went to my friend Katies house yesterday and we made fairy cakes.
I decorated one of our windows with some easter decorations. How did you make your Easter egg basket?
I watched the Garfield movie tonight.

ReplyDeleteSorry your not sleeping well at all. I know I'm not up getting sick in the middle of the night but i do know how awful it is not to sleep, there's nothing worse. i hope all goes well for you tomorrow with your biopsy's.
I think when you come home you will have to open up your own restaurant with all these menu ideas you have and your love for food!! :-)

ReplyDeleteLike Nina, I love hearing abot what you eat. Michael always slags my family (and me!) that we wake up, have breakfast and then start talking about what we'll have for dinner! So you can never talk too much about food in my eyes.
My parents are coming home this week and they said to tell you they are really looking forward to being able to read your blog as they haven't been able to for awhile.
Another day of coincidences with you....not only do I burn dinners on the same day your dad burns yours, but our tv was also on the blink. I rang Sky and they said it would be fixed in the next 2 minutes to 4 hours!! I laughed when the guy gave me that time range. Anyway, murphys law, it wasn't fixed til 4 hours later! Hopefully your TV is sorted out quickly coz you really need it in your room.
Naoise I hope the biopsies go well for you tomorrow and that they are done quickly. We will say lots of prayers. And I hope you and your Mum have a better night tonight to help you through the day. We'll be thinking of you all day & will be looking forward to your next post.

How did your tv 'blow up'? Did it really go ka-boom? How are you keeping entertained without a tv? Does your Mum have to act out all the parts of Friends?

Thats terrible about your tv, i hope they get it working soon. I would be lost without my tv. My mobile was not working there for 2 days and i was lost without it, i didnt know what to do with myself. Its back working now though. I also love hearing about your menu and all the lovely things you have been eating.
Thats great you made an easter basket, how did u make that? You should defo fill your basket with mini eggs, i love them! I sent you an Easter Card today, i hope you get it before easter!

ReplyDeleteOh, forgot to tell you, Anna fell last night and landed on her face. Her tooth came through her gum, there was blood everywhere. Mum brought her to Temple Str and they kept her there till 11 o'clock, they came home exhausted and had to go back in again this morning at 7 am to see a plastic surgeon. they have decided not to do anything with her face, but will be marked, her lip is soooooooo swollen. poor pet, anyway talk later. xxxxxxxxxxx
