Day + 65 and Day +66

Hi All, Am very tired today and I really miss home and all my friends and family that are there. I didn't do that much today. I had an OK night, I was up about 8 or 9 times which is really good for me. I am on lots of new medicines cos I one of my viruses has managed to get into my blood which is not good. Paula came today and we did some silk painting which we have to finish off. Mummy is doing up my room for when I get home and she got the Next and Argos catalogues which I love looking through. I also got some paints and canvases and will hopefully be doing some painting this week. My bloods are low so I get blood and platelet transfusions every day. I call them my orange juice and ribena transfusions :-). Dad found frozen aromatic duck in the supermarket, it was a bit rubbery but was great to have some duck! I had a mini corn on the cob too, I'm getting more steroids than normal so I'm hungry all the time. I had a bit of custard after that. Tomorrow is Monday and its a busy day for the nurses as its swab day. I'm going to watch Come Dine With Me and Hells Kitchen tonight and then try and catch up with some sleep. I miss everyone so so much and really want to be at home right now. My friend Emma is coming over to see me next week, she will be able to talk to me on the phone and see my through the window I'm so looking forward to that! Lots of love Naoise xxxxxx

  1. Hi Naoise,

It must be so hard missing everyone so much, and we all really really miss you too. Crap to hear that an infection is in your blood, hopefully the new medicens will take care of it.

I love looking at catalogues too, the next one has lovely stuff for girls rooms. Eva and Keelin got new throws from there. The Laura Ashley catalogue is lovely too. I guess your room is going to be a new shade of pink!!

We went to the Circus today, which was great fun, but the weather was nice so it probably would have been better to have been outside.

Hope your night goes ok tonight, I can't believe being up 8 or 9 times is good for you, you poor pet. When you have your own babies, you'll find it such a doddle be up at night, given your sleep deprivation coping skills training.

As always we are thinking of you every minute of the day, always hoping that you'll turn a corner any hour.

    lots of love for now,

    Nina

  2. Hi Naoise
Sorry to hear that the virus is in your blood, but hopefully the medicines will sort that out soon. I'd say your excited about getting your room done up, you totally deserve it and it will be cool to come home to a fresh funky room, Ella got her new bed in Next, its so cool its the Amelia one. You should do every shade of pink in your room maybe in stripes or bubbles. I(isabelle) have a pink cloud painted in my room around my bed and everything on my side of the room is pink and I(sophie) have a yellow cloud and everything on my side is yellow cause believe it or not I don't like pink. Anyway the fun is planning it all. Enjoy it!
Hope you have a little better sleep again tonight. We have to go to bed now cause back to school tomorrow, I know you would love to be there but I would like another few weeks off.
    Take Care

  4. Hi Naoise,
It must be hard not seeing family and friends as you would when you are home. Hopefully you will be home soon once those medicines start working for you. Planning doing up your room sounds like great fun. I love looking through catalogues, even when I'm not planning to do anything! I'm delighted you have your pal Emma coming to visit. She must be as excited as you are I'm sure. Thats great that you have some canvases to start painting on again. Paintings always look so professional when done on canvas. Ross Greg and Luke are entering an art competition with our local pharmacy. They have lots of prizes so hopefully one of them will be lucky. Luke was very enthusiastic and wanted to draw on his brothers entries too, but we managed to save them! I took Luke to watch Greg play soccer today and he met up with three little girls his age. One of them had a toy doctors bag and he loved all the equipment inside. There was a bit of a tug or war between him and one of the girls over one of the toys! Luke will have to work on his bedside manner if he wants to be a real doctor! I hope you get some sleep tonight naoise and feel a little better tomorrow.
    Night night.
    Lots and lots of love

  5. Hi Naoise
I'm sorry you're having such a terribly dragged on time. I can only imagine how much you miss home and want to be here. I know it's so hard for you but I'm delighted to hear your friend Emma will be coming over. Even if it is just through a glass window, it'll be magic. Adults are great but I'd say you'll be glad to see someone under 12!
That's a lovely surprise from your Mum to redecorate your room. You'll have loads of fun planning that. I didn't get my bedroom to decorate til I was 16 but I spent all the years leading up to that time, decorating it in my mind. I'd always wanted a pink room and then somewhere along the line, close to 16, I changed to blue. Now at 38, I'd love a pink room but I don't think Michael would be so keen!
I remember as a teenager, sometimes when I couldn't sleep if something was upsetting me, I would just put the bad thoughts out of my mind and think about how I would decorate my room one day - it really worked....I would fall asleep content as a baby. You are having a far worse time than any little bad teenage day that I ever had, but I hope your redecoration plans will distract you and lift you up when you most need some happy head space. Plus you have catalogues.....a decorator's heaven!
When you come home you definitely need to hang out with Cormac for awhile.....you like such a variety of foods that I'm hoping your varied tastes may rub off on him. I'd be happy if he'd even eat chicken, never mind duck!
Get strong for your visit with Emma & think of it as the beginning of a new stage....visits through glass panes have to be followed by visits with hugs and kisses!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you get even more sleep tonight & that tomorrow is a better day. Lots of love, Aisling

  7. HI Naoise

I'm sure that we're all looking forward to having you home just as much as you want to get back here.

With all of your catalogues and artistic ability, you could probably run an interior design service from Newcastle...everyone would probably end up with a pink living room :p

Have you managed to eat all of your Easter eggs yet? I'm sure that you've been getting some help from everyone around you :)

I hope that you'll have a much better sleep tonight.

    Lots of love and hugs
    Ms Walshe
