Day +68

Hi Everyone, well last night didn’t have any drama but still no sleep :-(. I’m still up on the time going to the loo constantly so no sleep again. Today am so tired again, I don’t really know what it feels like not to be tired anymore. I didn’t eat anything this morning, had two blood transfusions and one bag of platelets for breakie :-). The good news is my rash is definitely getting better. I still have tummy aches though but am taking my codeine every four hours to help with them. I felt a bit hungry this afternoon and fancied a chicken wrap, we had no chicken so Mum went to the supermarket and I had chicken kiev in a wrap, it was nice and I managed to eat half of it. Then I had my shower, it was nice standing under the hot water so I stayed there for a bit. Then I got back into bed and fell asleep. I woke up and I need oxegen again, when I sleep I’m not breathing properly. I have to keep my mask on all night and sleep with it tonight which is a pain. The clown docs came today but I wasn’t in the mood. The physio came down and we did some easy exercises. Paula or Amanda wasn’t in today but Amanda is in tomorrow so looking forward to that. I’m really really tired now and am gonna to asleep. Nite Nite love Naoise xxxxx

  1. Hi Naoise,
Sorry that you are still not getting a proper nights sleep and I am so sorry that you have to sleep with the oxygen mask on I imagine it is very uncomfortable. Glad to hear that the rash is improving, hopefully those stem cells are working their magic.

All is well with us, my due date is this saturday. I spent the first week of my maternity leave cleaning and painting, the second week was mid-term so myself and Kiel had a few play dates with cousins and this week I am starting to get bored so hopefully we wont we waiting too long for this babs to make an appearance. According to Kiel the baby is coming on saturday at 7 o'clock so we will just have to wait and see..

Hope you all get a good night sleep tonight honey.
    Lots of love,
    Aunty Audy

  2. Sleeping with a mask, what a bummer! Hopefully you'll be so tired you won't notice it. Good news about the rash though.

We didn't have your salmon and parsley sauce as planned; instead we made Jamie Oliver's fantastic fish pie. Clean plates all around even though they claim not to like spinach or carrotts. My favourite wrap is chicken salsa wrap, it's really good. Don't know if I like the sound of that breakie though!!

Tiredness always makes you feel a bit down in the dumps so I can understand why you didn't feel like the clowns.

Desperate Housewives is on now and I'm going to watch it even though it's got really bad. Looking forward to your next update to get a little glimpse of how you're doing.

    Till tomorrow, lots of love,
    Nina

  3. Hi Naoise,
I'm so glad your rash is getting better and you can enjoy your showers again. So sorry to hear about your breathing difficulties and that you need a mask, that does sound like a pain. I don't fancy your brekkie much but your lunch sounds yum!

We've had workmen in the last two days as we had a huge hole in our kitchen ceiling after a leak so myself and Caitlin have been wandering around looking for people to visit, hoping for a cup of tea and trying to come up with really quick dinners we can cook after they leave - we had paella today, I know its one of your favourites.

I hope everyday that you manage to get some sleep pet, here's hoping again. Thinking of you always! Lots of love, Paula

  5. Hi Naoise
I’m really sorry to hear sleep wasn’t good last night, but maybe with the rash a little better, things will start to go in the right direction for you. I suppose those great stem cells have to start somewhere and I’m willing them on with all my might to stay working hard for you. I know tonight may be a struggle with that mask but I hope you manage a few good hours. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you.
It's was a nice sunny day here and Cormac and Donncha were outside digging. They like to dig holes & I like them to dig them too because they never get very far but it takes them hours!!
We have finally put up the gate to keep Donncha in & it's working great so it is nice & relaxing to let him out and know he can't escape! Though yesterday evening he waddled off chasing a ball in the direction of the great outdoor world & we spied on him to see what he would do. He got to the gate & of course tried to climb over it but couldn't (yippee it works!). So in frustration, he picked up the ball he was chasing and lobbed it over the gate instead! Sounds like Nuala's little guy Cillian & Donncha should never get together - two wannabee escape artists in the making!
Cormac had his first day back at playschool this morning - he wasn't too eager. His playschool minders’ were all asking for you and said to let you know they are praying for you to get better. Caoimhe is going to post you a blog in the morning (unless we’re running late for school) with some quotes that she found in a little book of quotes from famous people. In the middle of it she found two from Westlife & she said they are for Naoise! There was one in it from an actress called Áine something-or-other, so that’s to be texted to Áine!
What a breakfast you had today - I hope it’s not long before good old fashioned Cornflakes can replace blood transfusions! You’re one in a million :-)
Hope you get some good stretches of sleep tonight. Lots of love, Aisling xx

We shall cross our fingers that tonight u get some sleep - you must be exhausted! Hope the mask doesn't disturb you too much - at least it's doing a good job!

  8. Hi Naoise,

We are glad to hear your rash has improved. Your shower must have been so much more pleasant today. I don't blame you for lingering in it, it's lovely sometimes. It's so awful you can't get any proper sleep. You are exhausted you poor thing. I can imagine you were in no form for the clown docs alright today. Next time they come by hopefully you will be in the mood.

I'm trying to get Luke interested in doing jig saws at the moment but he tells me 'there too boring'. He much prefers 'Mr. Pop'. It's the toy that pops and the face pieces jump off. He obviously like more exciting, unpredictable toys!

Ross is singing with his school choir tomorrow night in the National Basketball Arena in Tallagh. There are lots of other schools taking part too. They have been working for months on the songs. Hopefully it will go well for them.

We hope and pray you get some decent sleep tonight.

    Bye for now Pet.
    Lots and lots of love
Vincent, Margaret, Ross, Greg and Luke

  9. Hi Naoise
Hope you got a good sleep last night and that the rash continues to disappear.

All well here everyone back in school after the Easter Hols. Joe and Sean are as always outside with a ball, but Joe now has taken an interest in gardening. We are sowing our own vegetables and Joe and Frank are very busy getting the soil just right. The seeds are sewn in pots all over the house and then will be replanted outside in another week or two.I think there is a big competition on with your dad and Frank and Joe. Who will have the biggest carrot or tastest potato. We will have to wait and see.

Matthew is out and about a lot too crawling everywhere. He is not walking yet but manages to get everywhere very fast anyhow.

Katelyn and Saoirse had a sleep over with Aine at the weekend. It went very well although I think Saoirse and Aine disagreed alot. Sometimes they get on great and sometimes they dont.

Hope all goes the way it should over the next few days, thinking of you always.

    God Bless
    Love All the Ahernes
