Day + 60

Hi all, sorry for the delay in updating my blog. Monday was day +60. I just wish I could be at home and I miss everybody so much, time is passing so slowly. Monday was the same, a crap night, up on the hour every hour. I spent most of the morning asleep, or at least trying to sleep. I didn’t fancy any breakfast and I had a very late dinner of mashed potatoes and gravy followed by some rice – cause the doctors came in and by the time they were finished my dinner was cold – just bad timing. There is a lot of hope is on our trip to Holland. My rash is still as bad as every & my tummy is upset. Two kinda of funny things happened. Firstly when I was having my shower dad changed my bed, but he just grabbed all the blankets and put them in the washing bags. Later that evening dad came in with the remote control for the TV – it had been through the wash and now didn’t work.. nice one dad… So with no TV to watch, imagine no friends. I think it is the first time since I came here that I missed Friends, and guess who’s fault it was!! To make up, we made some fairy cakes with butter icing topping. I mixed the butter, milk (UHT milk) with the cake powder and then put into cake dishes and baked them for 12 mins. While they were cooking (I sound like a TV chef now) we made the icing. Dad took them out of the oven and I put the icing on. But after all that work I was so looking forward to my treat, but the were HORRIBLE !!! After that it was time for some sleep. Nite nite from Naoise in Newcastle.

  1. Hi Naoise

My fingers are crossed for your trip to the Netherlands. I hope that it will make you feel much better.

That's so funny that your Dad put the remote control into the wash. Maybe you should keep your computer out of his way when it comes to laundry time!

It sounds like you got lots of Easter eggs. Maybe you could make rice krispie buns with whatever chocolate you can't manage to eat. They're ALWAYS yummy!

    Big hugs!

  2. Hi Naoise
Sorry I havent posted in the past few days but I went to Sligo for the weekend. My last little trip of freedom before I have the baby! Im so sorry to hear that you have been feeling so bad and that the rash is really annoying you. I suppose your dad has become the back scratcher since your Mum went home - you will have to get him to grow his nails to give a good scratch! I really hope that you feel better after your trip to Holland and who knows what famous people you might see in the airport this time!!!

  3. Hi Naoise,
It was lovely to hear your voice on Sunday! We had just come back from Cavan and went to Nana's for dinner. Oisin was disgusted to discover when we got there that there were no cousins, only Chrissie and Phil, and they don't strip naked and jump around the couches like his cousins do so they don't really count!

We all have our fingers crossed that this trip to Holland yields some good results. You so deserve a break from all the sickness, toilet trouble and itchy rash! I have loads of people praying for you and my friend Tracy sent a special prayer request to a lady who sees angels. You have so many people routing for you, I just wished it all helped you in some small way.

Your buns look lovely even if they do taste yuck! Silly Derek putting the remote in the wash! One of Oisin's friends thought his DS looked a little grubby so he washed it under the tap, bye bye DS!!

Thinking of you all the time!
    Lots of love, Paula

  6. Hi Naoise, really hoping that you start improving after your trip to Holland this week - you really deserve a break. What a pity that the buns weren't tasty - they looked so good in the photo!! Did you eat lots of your chocolate eggs yet? We love to cook aswell but Mum says we're not so good at the cleaning up afterwards!! We had Italian friends visiting for the past week and they loved Ireland - it only rained once while they were here! Marta was my best friend when we lived in Italy so it was great to see her again! We hope that your trip is as exciting as the last one and look forward to seeing the photos and hearing all about it! lots of love Ciara & Ellen xxxxxxx

  9. Hi Naoise
I hope your trip to Holland goes well and hope your mom got a new big bottle of rescue remedy. That is so funny about the remote control, sounds like something that would happen in our house.
We went to build a bear workshop in Dundrum, It was cool and we bought an outfit for each of our teddies, but don't worry still plenty more clothes there for when you get back. There is a new build a bear puppy. For all you have been through you deserve them all, Wow would'nt that be great all the bears and clothes in your room, you could never get bored dressing them all. Well best of luck on your trip, everything crossed it all goes well for you.
    Love

  10. Hi Naoise,
I cam totally understand how annoying it is to have no remote control. Years ago when we all still lived in your Nannas the house got broken into and they stole the video player but took the wrong remote with it so we had no TV remote for years after and it was the cause of many a row!! I can also relate to your cakes tasting horrible, it happens everytime I bake. I told you before that Kiel actually cried when he tasted his birthday cake it was so horrible.

I am sorry the tummy is still upset and the rash still annoying you but hopefully your trip to Holland tomorrow will help. I will keep everything crossed that the trip goes well and makes you feel better.
    Lots of love,
    Audy
