Day + 18

Hi everyone, Mondays are always very busy and today was no different, I think it is because the weekend was so quite around here that makes Monday seem so busy. You’ll never guess what I had for breakfast, yep a pancake. Dad and I played Wii for a little while, then the teacher came in and we did English, which was ok. I had a little break and then Paula came in and we did ‘marbling’ painting. I had been talking with my Dad earlier and he agreed to do a parachute jump with me when I’m 18. I got Paula to also agree, I even got her to sign a contract – so she has to do it now  we will do it for the bubble club (the charity that supports the Bone Marrow Unit here in Newcastle). I sent Dad to the shops (which are in Newcastle city centre) to get some food. I fancied some rice and soya sauce but I wasn’t sure that I was allowed it, but by the time he came back Paula had confirmed that I could so I sent him back to the shops. Dinner was yummy, tea was fish and chips, but the fish wasn’t great. My physiotherapists came in and we did my exercise on the Wii Fit which was brilliant fun, my legs were wobbly by the time I was finished. I also watched a little bit of Hairspray, had a shower and watch friends, so it was a very busy day. The doctors continue to be happy with my progress and my bloods (neutrophils are now 1.15) are improving. So a hectic day, I’ve just had my evening medicine and I’m going asleep now. Thanks for all the comments, I really love getting them. Nite, nite, Love Naoise

  2. Hi Naoise,
Wow you are going to do a parachute jump that would be cool, I have always wanted to do one. Chrissy did one last year, you should get her to show you her video of it, I think she screamed alot when jumping out of the plane. Sorry to hear your Dad over cooked your custard. Myself and Kiel baked a chocolate brownie cake tonight, Paula gave me the recipe saying that it was fool proof but it was'nt Audy proof. I don't know what happened it was like the ingredients separated the outer edges went really hard and the inner part was all gooey. I really am awful at baking, Kiel actually cried when he tasted his birthday cake the other week. But I will keep practicising on my two men and I promise when you come back I will be able to make you a chocolate cake that acually tastes nice. Glad to hear the doctors are happy with your progress, you are doing great.
    Love Audy

  4. Hi Naoise

I think that you'll be doing a joint parachute jump with a lot of people. You can add me to the list :)

Remember that photograph you took a little while ago with your arms raised over your head? That's what I had to do when I did my jumps in New Zealand. I was told to make a banana shape, just before jumping off the skids of the plane.

Just make sure you don't eat too many pancakes just before you jump out of a plane!!

  6. Hi Naoise,
I'm delighted that the docs are happy with your progress. And lovely to see you smiling in your photos! You're brilliant!!
I won't be joining you in your parachute jump as I'm a big scaredy cat but I'm sure it'll be hugely exciting. Oisin would probably love to do it though, I caught him today trying to drag a 7 ft ladder across the garden so he could climb on the shed roof, little daredevil.

I hope tomorrow is another good day!
    Lots of love, Paula

  7. Hi Naoise,
Great to see you doing so well. You look great. Love the headgear. The exercises sound like hard work but maybe more fun with the Wii. Parachute jump a great idea - you will raise loads of money I bet - more than your Dad I bet !!!

    Best wishes
    Anne.

  8. Hi Naoise,
Sorry I haven't been in touch for awhile. I'm delighted to hear you are eating foods that you like again. That's funny about sending your Dad to the shop for the tasty treats, why not. The Wii fit sounds like brilliant fun. Its wonderful that the doctors are so happy with how you are doing. You are kept busy with your studies and exercise every day. I would never be brave enought for a parachute jump. I'd like to go up in hot air balloon sometime maybe, but I hear they are very noisy when you are in the basket below. I'll have to think about it! Ross made his confirmation on Friday. He enjoyed all the fuss and it didn't rain on us which was nice. He got some jewelry which he is calling his 'bling'. We had lots of cousins, aunties and uncles at the house for a party and Luke loved it all. His hair was wet from all his running about and dancing. He is going though a difficult stage and is slapping people a bit. I think the more he likes you the more slaps you get! We will continue to keep an eye on your blog. You are doing brilliantly Naoise!!

Sending you heaps and heaps of love
Margaret, Vincent, Ross, Greg and Luke

  10. Hi Naoise,

You do look great! I've never tried the Wii, sounds like fun! Eva got her DS yesterday for her birthday and by last night she was going to bed googly eyed, so I don't think I'll be investing in any more electronic games until the novelty of this has well worn off. She had a great day though, the whole of senior infants sang happy birthday to her, which made her day. She got some nice presents and had her favorite dinner and birthday cake last night. She's counting down the days till her party, and I'm counting down the days to the clean up!

Don't think a parachute jump is for me, then again I'll be 40 by then, could be the start of my mid life crises and save me forking out the convertible.

Delighted the doctors are pleased with your progress, keep fighting on!

    Lots of love,
George, Darren, Eva, Keelin, Senan and Connell
