Day +26

Hello Everyone, today I got the best news ever!!! I am allowed out into the hospital grounds tomorrow!!! I can't believe it, it was such a surprise as my cells versus the donor cells went up which is not good. I need to have mostly the donor cells in my body and not mine. They went down to 51% but am now at 61%. I am so happy it will be really strange to go out and it will be really strange to put clothes on!! Today started off as normal, had cornflakes for breakie, watched a DVD. Then Andy the physio came down and we did some of my excercises he is coming to the St. Paddy's Day party so at least there will be a boy there now :-)! Then Elizabeth the teacher came and we did Maths during which I was sick! Sorry Elizabeth. Mum went into town and bought me a cool green tracksuit for next Tuesday! Its gone off to be washed lets hope it doesn't shrink!! After that Paula came and we made a fab necklace that Mum wants to borrow. I had a cheese wrap for my tea. Today seemed to fly by and I'm now so tired but so excited! Will let you know how I got on!!! Love Naoise xxxxx

  1. hi naoise!
you probably dont remember me but im cathy - i was the doctor who admitted you to the day ward on your last transfusion day before going to newcastle in temple street. Ive been following your blog for the last few weeks and i just wanted to tell you how amazing i think you are - you are one of the bravest, most articulate and funny people ive ever met and i feel honoured to have met you even if it was just that one time. by telling your story and showing the photos you are going to help hundreds of other children face their fears before going through a bone marrow transplant - they will now be able to read this and see what its like from your perspective instead of trying to understand horrible medical speak!! by the sounds of it you are on the way to recovery so keep up your spirits and keep writing oh and in case i dont get to say it next week Happy St Patricks day!! x cathy

  2. Hi Naoise
That is great news about your outing....a fantastic surprise! It must feel so exciting yet strange after such a LONG time stuck in your room.
What a lovely posting from Cathy above - everything she says about you is SO true. I never thought about the fact that this blog might help others down the road facing into the same thing, so well done to you for keeping it up-to-date even in the days when you were at your lowest.
A boy to your party...yippee...and a good looking one at that! I wish Cormac's physiotherapist looked like him!
Have a wonderful stroll tomorrow, that's the best news, well done. Lots of love Aisling

  10. Hi Naoise,
I would like to endorse everthing Cathy says about you.Not only are you an inspiration to kids having a marrow transplant ,but for us all.How the thought of going outside,or playing a game with your Mum and Dad ,ALL THE SIMPLE THINGS lights up your life in spite of all you have been through, never moaning or complaining. We should all take a leaf out of your book.
Well it is still very hot here,we need big rain otherwise the rice will die, what would you do if there was no rice?Everybody eats rice three times a day.Looking foward to your photos of your Paddys Day party.Wondering what you have lined up after that.Lots of Love GaGa
